French Inland Waterways (VNF)

Voies Navigables de France (VNF) oversees France’s vital inland waterway network, prioritizing climate resilience and local expertise development. They have experience in ISO14001-certified bank restoration projects using plant techniques, informing on national guidelines, and actively engaging in transnational environmental collaborations through initiatives like the Seine-Escaut Economic Interest Grouping

Within the project, VNF's main role is establishing organizational policies to support NbS across its network and assessing the financial viability of these solutions. Specifically, VNF will share its expertise in riverbank restorations using plant techniques, provide training materials and knowledge, and contribute to the development of policy recommendations and the dissemination of good practices.
