Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives Authie and Canche Valleys

The Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives Authie and Canche Valleys (CPIE) is an environmental, non-governmental organization focusing on the preservation and enhancement of the Authie and Canche valleys in Pas-de-Calais, France. Through its initiatives, it strives to promote sustainable practices and the conservation of these unique natural areas. The organization has over 40 years of experience in regional river management planning and providing training in biodiversity and natural site management. 


Within the project, they take part in all three work packages.

  • In work package 1, they closely assist SYMSAGEL in the implementation of their pilot site through efficient stakeholder involvement strategies and the promotion of NbS.
  • In work package 2, they develop multiple tools and workshops to raise awareness, inform and involve stakeholders, as well as training programs to help mainstream NbS within the project and beyond.
  • In work package 3, they help design an evaluation tool for the pilots, and actively work on the mainstreaming and upscaling of NbS.
